Overview of the CLAT Course

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance test for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs given by India's 22 National Law Universities.

The Consortium of National Law Universities, comprised of representative universities, organizes CLAT. The CLAT exam is also used for admissions and recruiting at several affiliated colleges and organizations.

All admissions to the 5-year integrated LLB and LLM programs beginning in the Academic Year 2023-2024 will be made using the CLAT 2023.

Educational Qualifications

The candidate must have passed the 12th or equivalent exam from a recognized board. Minimum Marks- Students from the general and OBC categories must have 45% in their 12th grade. The minimum marks required for SC/ST candidates in SLAT 2022 are 40%.

What is CLAT Exams 2023?

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized national-level entrance exam for admission to India's twenty-two National Law Universities (NLU). These scores are also used for law admissions at the majority of private and self-financed law schools in India. CLAT Post Graduation (CLAT PG) scores are used by public sector undertakings in India such as ONGC, Coal India, BHEL, Steel Authority of India, Oil India, and others to fill legal positions.

CLAT Exam Eligibility

Candidates who wish to sit for the UG-CLAT 2022 examination must have completed their Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) and obtained the following minimum qualifying marks:

  1. For General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI candidates: 45% or equivalent grade.
  2. For candidates from the SC/ST categories: 40% or equivalent.
