The IBPS PO exam is solely for Officer positions; whereas, the IBPS RRB exam is for multipurpose assistant and officer positions. An IBPS PO's remuneration is significantly greater than that of an Officer or Assistant in any Regional Rural Bank.
Indeed, there is a 0.25-point penalty for each incorrectly answered question in the Regional Rural Bank exam. Under RRB, there is negative marking for prelims, mains, and single written test examinations. No marks are deducted if no response is marked and the answer is left blank.

Yes, one can apply for both the Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and the Officer positions.
However, candidates can only apply for one position in the officer's cadre at a time.
